Oracle North East Launched

A unique new community database, titled ‘Oracle North East’, was launched at Coleraine on Wednesday 9th December 2009. Oracle North East is a new database of community, voluntary, and sporting organizations operating within the Ballymena, Ballymoney, Coleraine, Larne, Limavady and Moyle council areas.
The database is an initiative of the North East PEACE III Partnership and is funded through the European Union PEACE III Programme. Oracle North East will assemble, in a single database, the contact details of as many, community, voluntary and sporting organizations as possible throughout the North East area.
The database is being compiled through an intensive research programme by a consortium led by Mentor Economic Developments Limited. Other consortium members are North Antrim Community Network, Ballymoney Resource Centre, and Coleraine Rural and Urban Network.
All organizations listed in the database have signed a declaration of consent to have their details included. Once completed it will allow for staff within the six council areas, delivery agents and consortium members of programmes to target services to particular groups and organizations within the North East region, and will allow for more effective use of resources. It will help in engaging and supporting hard to reach groups as well as assisting in consultation and mapping processes. Delivery agents or consortium members who are accessing the database will be required to sign an agreement that they will only use the database for the purpose of their existing contract.
