Programme 5
Community Dialogue and Exchange Programme
Programme aim:
This capacity building programme is specifically designed to increase the skills of local communities to engage in dialogue around sectarianism, racism and intimidation and the issues associated with living in an interface area.
Target beneficiaries:
Local groups, groups from disadvantaged areas and marginalized groups from the Council areas of Coleraine, Limavady, Larne, Moyle, Ballymoney and Ballymena. It is anticipated that the programme will contain capacity building activities which will engage hard to reach groups throughout these areas.
Outcomes:
Programme participants have the opportunity to discuss contentious issues initially within their own community setting before engaging in joint dialogue initiatives with groups from different communities. The capacity building programme will be practical and relevant to the needs of participating groups in order to prepare them for dialogue. It will include a combination of one to one support/training/facilitation, mentoring, residentials and networking events.
Resource allocation:
This programme contains a resource allocation which participating groups can use to implement practical projects which bring into practice the learning developed through the programme.
