Community Engagement and Visible Manifestations of the Conflict Programme

Programme aim:
To increase the confidence, knowledge and skills of community group representatives, statutory players and councillors from the Council areas of Coleraine, Limavady, Larne, Ballymoney, Ballymena and Moyle to explore community engagement principles, models, planning and development. This programme also includes initiatives to tackle the visible manifestations of sectarianism and racism.

Target beneficiaries:
4 Community representatives from at least three different areas within each council area across the cluster – 72 in total

Outcomes:
Participants will explore best practice strategies and initiatives that have successfully engaged hard to reach groups in all sorts of community setting to achieve better service delivery. These practices will be put to use in local areas in the planning out of intimidation through a greater level of involvement by local residents in decision making. The programme will also result in a reduction in the scale / extent of visible manifestations of sectarianism and racism which cause intimidation.
